It has been said that politics is a dirty business. That truism was put to the test recently, as things turned ugly on Capitol Hill during Senate hearings held amid sexual abuse allegations made against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh by Christine Blasey Ford. Evangelical Christians have a lot riding on a Kavanaugh confirmation to the Supreme Court, particularly as it relates to the issue of abortion. But what if Kavanaugh is not confirmed? What then? Listen as Darrell and Omaha (Virgil) remind Christians where – and in whom – their hope should rest in a world in which leaders that are in the highest political positions are affected by sin and evil.

Hi Darrell. I am a new listener as of 2-3 weeks ago. Must tell you how much I appreciate your clarity and candor in all the current issues. I so enjoyed this podcast. I took notes all the way through. This is just what I needed to hear. I love the verses you shared. It is always so good to hear and read God’s Word because it is so uplifting. Because of so many things going on in the world today and this past week, I confess that I am one of those Christians who knows better but tends to get discouraged. God used you in a mighty way to get me thinking Vertical again. One of my husbands favorite sayings. “You are discouraged because your thinking is horizontal, You must get vertical.” Just 2 days ago I said to my husband, “I know that God is Sovereign over all (even this Kavanaugh thing), but how do you reconcile God’s sovereignty when you know that this world belongs to Satan and he is working overtime? I always have to fall back on Isaiah 55:8,9 which says God’s ways and His thoughts are higher than ours. Now I will tell you that I am not one to question the attributes of God, however I was acting like a naive believer who has forgotten what God has told us about these days, and how we should respond. Thank you so much for your honest exhortation of truth and God’s word. I try to spend a lot of time reading and studying the bible because I desire to know truth and know God better every day. I am going to read the book of Ecclesiastes with my commentary when I am done here. I am so thankful I discovered you and I will be praying for you. We need more voices like you. I see so many believers who lack discernment. You are a blessing. Rosie
