The Equality Act of 2019 is one of the most dangerous pieces of legislation to be introduced in Congress in our lifetime. It is dangerous because it will force Christians, under threat of law, to be accommodating of subjective choices regarding sexual orientation and gender identity. And yet many Americans, as well as many Christians, seem to not care. Listen as Darrell and Virgil explain in this two-part series of episodes why you, as a Christian, should care about what is being proposed in the Equality Act of 2019 under the pretense of “civil rights.”

First, thank you for your podcast. Too many Christians are asleep in the car these days, opting rather to be a passenger and simple wait for the Lord’s return or go along for the ride, allowing culture and our leaders to create such damaging laws that our children are in danger at every turn. Having lived in one of the top two un-churched cities for sixteen years I have seen first hand the slow infiltration of cultural-based beliefs into the lives of Christians on almost every level (barring, perhaps, adultery). The lack of understanding of scripture, or the permissive, “justified” dismissal of it is astounding.
My biggest concern, which not everyone draws a clear connection to, is the damage and confusion it causes our children. It is amazing how laws which will directly affect them are not a priority, again, perhaps because they see no connection at all. Having worked many years in human trafficking education, I see very clearly the connection between vaguely worded laws and the “wiggle room” which may be allowed to justify education and even action against family values and even the treatment of children (i.e. sexual fetishes, etc). Such blindness is growing as justification for “but it’s not for me to say” is the rhetoric of the day. (I’ve even heard people justify their lack of involvement and taking a stand with “turn the other cheek”, one of the most misunderstood passages of scripture ever).
Thank you for your podcast. Keep THINKING and speaking out!
Just started on this, but thank you for pointing out that politics is just the means to implement a worldview! It drives me crazy to hear Christians say, “I don’t do/ I’m not into politics.” Makes me want to tear out my hair in frustration.
