In this episode of Just Thinking, Darrell and Virgil address what many people might consider one of the most obscure topics in the history of Christian podcasting. Namely, the relationship between the gospel and ‘soul food’. No, we’re not kidding. Listen as these two brothers carefully examine the Old and New Testament in an effort to exposit the theological connections to a socio-cultural tradition which, as Darrell and Virgil recently found out, is something many people are extremely passionate about. If you thought soul food was just about food, think again.

oh my, am I ever getting convicted…..
I enjoyed your podcast immensely. I have believed exactly as you do all my life but have never heard the case built from the ground up as well as you did starting with Noah’s sons. Bless you my brother. As a side, I started life as a farm girl in southern Michigan and am ethnically Irish/Scottish but I happen to like both collard greens and turnip greens. Really, gave never met a vegetable I didn’t like.
This is a challenging topic. I know that you are right because the Word of God is true however I struggle with this. Coming from a “mixed race” background and having dealt with some traumatic events because of it, had caused me to be pro black. No pro blackity black! Since I’ve come to know God and began to develop a biblical worldview much has changed for me but I’ve yet to truly let go of some of this mindset. I welcome the reminder and the challenge to put those thoughts and untruths under subjection to the Word. By the way I’m not a big fan of soul food either lol. I’m not messing with a hog maw or chitterlings. I’m not even trying to taste it! God bless and thanks for the challenge.
